Video problem

Hello, I have two problems:

1) I can't seem to play video on my computer, on the internet (Firefox/IE/Opera) or on Windows Media Player, VLC and Winamp.
The computer just simply freezes until the video is over.

My computer is: Dell Dimension 1100

I've tried searching the Dell website (drivers) for answers and drivers, but I've tried all and it doesn't work. Still freezes.
I have a GeForce 6200, and I have all the latest drivers for that (From Microsoft and from the Nvidia website), but nothing seems to work.

My second problem:

My keyboard layout is setup differently as to what it should be. My keyboard is a British layout - So the @ symbol is where the " symbol is supposed to be ect.

I've tried Control Panel, but nothing works.

If any of you require more information to help me, just ask. :)

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone help me?
If you require more information, just say so. :)

Thanks in advance.

My System

1. Try reducing the hardware acceleration slider, and install a codec pack.

2. Check In Control Panel under Regional Settings and Keyboard > Language.
