7600GT KO question

Yup, im back with another question.

Here are my specs

1GB Dual Channel DDR SDRAM
AMD Athlon 3400+
200GB harddrive

With my 7600GT in 1024x(whateverit is u prob know)
i only get 98fps in stress test. But people with similarspecs get 120 is something wrong? It runs 49 celsius idle and 53 celsius when im playing.
Playing Battlefield 2 at same resolution with maxed graphics goes 20-30 fps.

when planning a video upgrade you should always check the psu is good enough to run it before buying
cheap generic supplies are usually a waste of money and if they go can take a lot of the computer with them

it is unlikely to go tomorrow or all at once, you will notice problems starting to occur which will give an indication something is amiss
just don't ignore them

How much of a power supply can you afford? There are FSP (a very good brand) 400W supplies on Newegg for just under $50 shipped. That's a very good deal and should run your system.

I have to pay tax in my state and i have 35$ max and thats what i can afford right now.

Anyways are you 100% sure the power boost will help since 300W is the minimum for the card to run asin most likely overall power.

To be honest, I don't believe power will help you get more frames. I believe more ram (2GB dual channeled), or faster ram could by how others are getting more frames. But I think I speak for everyone here at TSF that we suggest quality power supplies as they can be the root of so many problems.
