Dual Monitor troubles...
Hello people...
I'm having troubles setting up two monitors, as well I have not alot of knowledge on computer hardware. I have an onboard video card on my motherboard, as well a seperate video card. I'm trying to install one monitor on each. The problem is that my computer won't read my onboard video card, and now i'm still stuck with only one video card with 3 different slots for monitors(in which I don't have the proper thing to use 2 of'em). Help? |

It is often the case that when you insert a video card into a computer, the onboard video is automatically disabled. You can try going into the bios and checking for an option to enable onboard alongside a video card, but few motherboards have this option.
You say that you have plugs on the video card you can not use because they are the wrong connector? Could you describe what they look like, or post a picture of them? I'm guessing that they are DVI connectors, and if they are DVI-I, then you can add a converter (only costs about 2-3 dollars), that would change it to VGA. If it is DVI-D, however, then unfortunately you would need a DVI monitor to hook it up. |
