Dual Monitor Setup Problems
Hey guys,
I've recently purchased an Acer TravelMate 8200, and I'm interested in using two monitors, and extending my desktop. I know that my laptop has more than enough resources to do this, but I'm having some problems with fullscreen 3D applications. I play World of Warcraft, and I'd like to use my laptop screen for the game, but I want to play a video or watch internet TV on the other screen. Unfortunately, whenever I try to go into the game, the video screen stops rendering the video area. I can still hear sound though, so I know that the video is still playing. I've got an ATI Mobility X1600 with the newest Omega Drivers. I'm running WinXP, and I have the latest DirectX update. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

It's likely a limitation of the video hardware itself. I know I can play Guild Wars on my laptop with it showing on the LCD panel and the desktop on the other. Some applications take total lock over the video card so dual-screen is useless. FFXI is such a title.
