Graphics card HELP!
I got a Dell Dimension 3100
How do I disable my onboard display driver so that I can run off my fx5500 pci graphics card. |

You should go into the BIOS on boot and disable it there. When it shows the dell logo, it should say to do a key combination to enter setup, do that key combination and look for 'disable onboard video' or something like that. Save the changes and reboot.
Also, uninstall the driver in Windows. Go into device management, double click on display, and uninstall the monitor you see there. Reboot.

In my BIOS there was no option to 'disable' - only an 'integrated' or 'auto' option. It was set to 'auto' so I left it that way, installed the card, and then disabled my previous devise driver under 'devise manager'. I tested to see if it was disabled by plugging my monitor into my stock onboard video input and I had no signal - thus, I am assuming that my pc is running my new geforce fx5500 by default now.
