How do I disable onboard video to install new?
Hi, I have a Dell Optiplex PIII 1.13 ghz running Windows XP. The video card is only a 4mb and it is an onboard video card. I need to disable it so I can install a better video card. Can you please tell me how to disable it?
Thanks! Deanna |

in the device manager disable the onboard
turn the computer off and install the card connect the monitor to the card reboot into the bios and check if you have to change it from onboard to card,i think current dells auto disable onboard when a card is inserted, not sure about yours so you will need to check reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode when windows finishes booting disable a/virus install your drivers reboot the computer
