SLi Multi-GPU rendering

Hi, I just got home today, and thought, counter-strike: source seems to be running the same fps from when I just had one video card, as two.

I recently bought a second one, and the performance isn't really that good. In fact, I get 105 FPS full settings with one card, and 75 with two. (Video Stress Test)

I have a 3500+ 64 bit amd
2x 6600GT
1GB RAM

Any other SLi uses encountering this, or what could I do to fix it?

Have you tested each card on its own? When I first got my SLI system, I had similar (but worse) troubles, with games lagging a lot. One of my video cards was faulty, and replacing it fixed the problem. One of your cards might be faulty. What brand are your cards?

some games can not effectivley utilize two cards and in some cases will actually hurt performance. CSS might be one of these.

Yeah I guessed that, I think Quake 4 can utilize SLi, as when I play it I can use higher settings with getting the max 60fps for that engine. I have Some DiabloTec cards, rare but they're good. I know for sure both aren't faulty because when I received the second one, I put the newer one in the 'primary' slot. But Source might definately be one of those games, is there a way to turn off SLi once hl2.exe is ran?
