Computer halts when running certain programms

Hello TSF fellows,

My PC have this nasty habit of freezing while working on some programs.. these programs are:

Adobe Photoshop CS
Adobe premiere
Sony Movie Studio... very much similar to vegas
Swift 3D .. while rendering
And while converting DVD's to DivX

on the other hand I have no problems while working on other programs including but not limited to:
Flash MX 2004/ Flash 8
Director MX 2004... including 3D physics
Adobe Illustrator

Could it be an overheating issue of the graphics card!! The heat of the CPU is fine, I checked it using the intel utility softwere, it is within the normal range.

Now a friend told me that it is likely an incompatibility issue, here is the spec of my PC:

Processor: intel P4 3.00 GHz Hyperthreading, 1MB cache
MotherBoard: intel D915PGN
Ram: DDR 512 MB speed 400 MHz (2ns)
VGA: Gigabyte nVIDIA GeForce PCX 5300 128 MB of ram.
OS: MS Windows XP Pro. Service Pack: 2

It gets so frustrating especiall when you forget to save and have to restart.

Any ideas!!!
Many thnx in advance.

Hi,

I would suggest you give this free download a test drive and see what your overall temps, voltages, and fan speeds are telling you. That way, it is a good start point to see what is happening in your unit. Here is the link:

SensorView Pro (Free to try for like 21 days – Is excellent)

Post back with questions or concerns and post your results.
