I have a similar problem. I have been getting blue screen errors on my XP system saying "DRIVER_CORRUPT_MMPOOL" and IRLQ (or something like that)_NOT_GREATER_OR_LESS_THAN. I was able to start up in safe mode a few times, but i turned the system off one night and when i tried to run it again the next morning the screen wouldn't wake up. I found some help on how to fix the driver corruption but i can't get any response from my monitor. If i unplug it from the video card the screen says "No connection", but if i plug it back in it goes into sleep. The computer is on and running (however the green LED light that says my comp is on doesnt light anymore. the orange "thinking"? LED works fine.) but no safe mode, no nothing at all. I tried plugging in an old vid card but got the same response. If i could just see something i could work on fixing the other stuff. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm at a computer lab right now so im gonna try to list some specs off the top of my head:
Amd Athlon 1800+ XP Processor 512 DDR Ram Nvidia Geforce3 Ti 200 vid card Dell M780 Monitor Soyo Dragon Plus Motherboard I think its a 250 watt power supply This system was kinda pieced together from a Dell but has worked pretty dependably for a few years. When you say "lost" do you mean fried and I need a new one or something has just become unplugged? Thanks |

no longer putting out enough amps to run the system
before the P4 dell computers used propriatry psu units which means you had to use one wired to their specifications you could not just buy a normal atx and drop it in

I have an atx case that came with the power supply. I'm not quite sure what you're saying though...is the system salvageable? do i need to buy a new power supply? If i need to buy a new power supply what would you recommend, i have no idea what kind of power i need.

put the power plug from the spare supply alongside the dell one
check that the same coloured wires go to the same pin on each plug i think that you will find that they do not match, which means you cannot use it in the dell if they do match you will be able to use it i would not buy a new supply until it is confirmed it is the supply that is the problem todays computers are using around the 550w+,being as your should run on a decent 350w,you should be able to find someone with an old one lying around,it will be more difficult if it is a unit specifically wired for dell
