No Input Signal

I was hearing a strange sound from my CPU during booting. It was a sound made by a fan. I opened my case and found that the sound was from my video card (Geforce Mx 440 AGP 128MB) fan. The fan was speeding up then slowing down then speeding up then slowing until windows starts loading and it runs at normal speed. I shut down and removed my video card to see if the fan was loose or if anything is wrong but it seemed to be allright. when i connected my card and my cable to it and started my pc, all i got is a floating box on a balnk screen with the no input signal message. The monitor led was orange (when it works normally it is green). The power seemed to be OK. The cpu was working normally. Everthing seemed to be allright. I removed the card and reseated it again and again but same problem. When i looked at the cable i saw one pin missing but there was no hole which says it is normal. I have an integrated PCI card (S3 Prosavage 16 MB) onboard. I connected the cable to the onboard video card and the problem was gone. The monitor was working again. I reconnected the cable to my Geforce, the same problem arises. I can't understand wat happened. The fan of my Geforce card is running. So i think it is getting power and the video card is fine. So wat?? Please help??
.
Some of my spec:
256 mb ram
30 GB hard disk maxtor
amd athlon 1.1 Ghz processor

Thnks for replying. Ok my specs are
Amd athlon 1.1GHZ processor
motherboard GA-72MMH
512 MB RAM
30GB HARD DRIVE MAXTOR
Power supply- CODEGEN 300W (model 300x1) 230 volt

I don't thnk its about my power supply. I checked my display cable (15 pin cable) from monitor to vga card, i realised zat the 1 missing pin is not normal. There are 14 pins in all (5 - 4(1 missing) - 5). My onboard video card seemed to be unaffected by this but my Gforce card yes as my screen says no signal input. Do you thnk zat missing pin is normal? If not so can the display cable be changed or do i need to get another monitor?

The reason you are seeing the No Input Signal messageis either

1. Monitor not connected properly.
2. Bad hardware

* If another monitor works on your computer it is likely a bad monitor.
* If your monitor works on another computer it is likely a bad video card.

My psu is about two years old. Yea the misssing pin is normal. The fan of My video card is working!. My monitor works when i conect it with my onboard video card. I think its probably my Gforce video card which is bad, or do you think its the AGP slot?

You could try your card in another pc with a AGP slot or try a different agp card. No other way to tell IMO. If you have any testers that plug into your board slots that give you readings would work, but most people dont have these things laying around. you could take it to your local pc repair shop they should have spare parts to test for you.
