Radeon x700pro Gaming Problems

Hello, all...
My Radeon x700pro used to be able to run games like Half-Life 2 and Quake 4 at full graphics, even HDR in Half-Life 2. Now, my VPU crashes about every 10 or so minutes, on Medium graphics in Quake 4. And usually when there is little use, such as times walking through hallways. I contacted ATi about the problem, but they essentially said get the latest drivers, which I had at the time, anyway. Then they said if it still is not working, they don't know what to do. It is even at the point of crashing while I am on my desktop.

Before you respond, you should know:
My Computer:
3.0 GHz Pentium 4 630
1024 MB DDR2 RAM
Win XP, SP2

Malware:
No current malware of any type.
BitDefender 9 Internet Security (My Malware Protection)
Has: Firewall, Antivirus, Antispyware, and Antispam

I hope you can help me resolve my problems...
Adam

What kind of PSU do you have ? It may not be performing at its best or might not be sufficient anymore for your system. Do your system temps look ok ? Did you clean up the videocard fan ?

( These are the simple basic steps please do not get offended if you are a hardware wizard. )

you would expect to see a quality 550w min running this computer
check your power requirements here
http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/
based on a quality supply and add 30% to the end result

Thank you very much for letting me know this. It is a Dell, so they can expect to hear from me in the near future. When I bought the computer, the specifications said 500 some W power supply, but now their site says 375W. Thanks again for the information.

Acutally, I went to Best Buy today and bought a 500 Watt one, and it fixed all of my problems. Thanks again for your help.
