Radeon 9800Pro/Asus P4P800E Deluxe problems
Ive been having major problems with my video card lately (radeon 9800pro). When I try to play any games (even older ones) my screen will go black/completely artifact/computer will reboot. Recently (after a hard reboot) a window popped up saying that "the computer has recovered from a serious error" and gave me the following stop error
Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078) I just installed the newest ATI drivers + catalyst. I am running 2 monitors (if that makes any difference) and the same thing happens if i disable the secondary one. Specs Asus P4P800E deluxe Intel 3.0C (not overclocked) 1 gig ram ATI Radeon 9800 pro Asus utilities say that temps are 41C - cpu and 33C system Thanks for your help, I wanna be able to play my games again... |

Mabye the video card is overheating. There should be an ATI utility with the card to monitor temps, post them.

Did it start doing this before installing new catalyst drivers? Does it die immediately after you start the game or does it take a while before it dies?
Some standard things to try when checking for hardware problems:

Good advice. The system and CPU temps look very good, so those aren't the problem. Follow the instructions above, and if the computer goes longer before it reboots, then its most likley overheating.

You could also try swapping it for another card (if you have one) and see if the computer still reboots.
