5.1 Rear Speakers Problem
I have just bought myself the Logitech Z5-400's along with an Audigy 2 NX. I have connected it all up, however whenever I watch a film, the rear channels are really quiet and you can hardly hear them. That is when using Dell Media Experience (the default DVD player). When I try and use Windows Media Player, a terrible noise comes out on top of the actual sound - like noise off the Radio. Its really strange.
Anyone know what is going wrong here?

Enable CMSS 3D. Additionally, a movie has to either be correctly encoded in 5.1 properly, and or/ your software needs to be full retail (power DVD, or windvd etc..) to actually play real 5.1 sound on a system correctly with a creative card without CMSS enabled. CMSS at least gives you 5.1 emulation with the lesser software (non full retail versions). i'm not sure what the "noise" you have is but it sound like it might be PCI crosstalk from a shared IRQ or something. Check out your IRQ situation - possibly try anotherr PCI slot and uninstall/reinstall updated drivers, then use CMSS in your EAX settings and see how it sounds.
