Static-like sound
I've been getting a weird static-like sound that I notice mostly while I play music but is also evident in all sounds as well. Basically I first noticed it while playing Windows Media Player, it would sound like music being played on a scratched CD, although they were music files already on the computer. If I restart, the sound goes back to normal for a short period of time, then the static sound gradually returns more and more. This happens will all programs. I tried updating my sound card driver but the driver updating wizard said there was no need. I checked the hardware device manager and it said everything seems to be working properly. This is a pretty new XPS 400 Dell computer and I'm a little upset that it's already acting funny after owning it only 2 months. If anyone knows how I can fix this problem or what could be causing it, let me know, thanks.
Oh, and it is not the speaker system, because I hear it in my headphones as well. I also checked all the cord connections to my speakers and headphones. Last edited by MH3201; 02-19-2006 at 08:44 PM. |
