need a good solution beside buying a new sound card(realtek)

hi guys, i totally dissapointed with the realtek board-on soundcard, even how much i update the driver until now the version is 3.82a , i still facing same problem, the sound just suddenly dissapear and my pc become so lack, after that i have to shutdown my pc and switch on again to get my sound back and by the way if i restart without shutdown i even cannot get the restart properly....

i already buy a new sound card and disable the bios, but the sound just not coming out every time, any one have a good solution.

my pc details
pentium 4 3.0GHZ
512 RAM
RADEON 9200

check to make sure nothing is severely eating up resources. Good idea to run anit virus/spyware/adware scans. Shut down all unnecessary tasks in the background. Granted, it would take ALOT of bg tasks to lag that system, but ya never know.
