Confused how can I stop my pc from trying to use the old card?

Im trying to get sound on an old pc.Old sound card wouldent work so I installed a diffrent one. Works great but when I reboot the pc keeps asking for software for the old one.
I dont have any soft ware to remove the driver I guess!!
The one that needs to go is CMI8330 AUDIO ADAPTER.

Hi,

Have you gone into Start, Control Panel, System Hardware, Device Manager and Disabled or Deleted all the references to the old card?

My System

i follow terrister on this...

if it's an onboard card you are trying to disable, you might need to do that inside the bios.

i always have had to with all ac'97 onboard cards.

if you have the drivers disk for the old sound card you can insert the disk and run the install if will detect the drivers and will enable you to fully remove them from their. another thing that you can do is to go to the start menu programs then find any program files associated with that sound card and see if there is an uninstall option in that folder
