Sound Problems

right i have re-installed XP on my pc and now there are no sund.audio deviced detected.

I think I have AC97 I have tried downloading drivers but I con't install and get an error which shuts down m PC.

Who do I restore sound?

Hi,

If you have a motherboard disk, they should be on there, so I would use that first. Then, go to Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and see if there are any red or yellow marks that indicate the drivers are not loaded. If there are, then right click and update drivers.

Post back with information after you have looked at these issues.

what do you mean by use motherboard first?

the other thing -

sound, video, game controllers:
Multimedia audio controller has yellow !

? other devices:
raid controller, video controller have yellow !


i have tried to up-date drivers but the software can not be found

Let's back up a little. Are you sure you loaded your motherboard chipset drivers and other drivers from your motherboard disk. That needs to be done as soon as you finish your OS install. Also, you should have video card drivers that need to be installed.

Before you go any further, let's take a look at this need first.

Where are we with the drivers mentioned in the above answer....these have to be done for your unit to work properly?
