no sound device detected
recently, I just switched OS from XP Home to XP PRo, everything seems to work fine, except for sound device(Realtek AC97), dnlded drivers, but Windows media for example, says there is no sound device installed or in use by another program, enbled in BIOS, but still nothing. If anyone could help would be greatly appreciated, tried most of the stuff within other threads, Device Manager("device is working properly") etc etc
Thanks |

This is not normal for that upgrade in OS, but nonetheless, that does not help you. If there are still places in the Device Manager that has the little red or yellow mark that indicates the drivers are not there, then right click that area and click 'Update Drivers" and see if that helps. If that does not work, get your motherboard disk and reinstall the AC97 drivers and see if that helps. If all else fails, then you might be wise to delete the items for AC97 that are set up on your computer and then reboot and reinstall the AC97 drivers from the motherboard disk. Post back with progess.
