Line In Sound Only through Left Speaker

I have a major problem, I am trying to get music off my cassettes. I have a realtek'97 sound card. I have hooked up a Y adapter to my line in of my sound card. It has 2 RCA jacks and they are plugged into my stereo, which has both a right and left speaker output.
I have no sound or very little coming from the right speaker. I am using polderbitSS to record, and it shows none coming out either. I don't even have it when just listening to it on my computer. I need help! I have even tried a new cable, same thing. I have updated my drivers also.

My System

If you swap the left/right plugs from the cassette do you get any sound at all?
Is there a mono/stereo option on the cassette deck?

Have a look in Volume Properties (yellow speaker icon, bottom right) to see if both the playback and recording balance is set to the central position.

EDIT: Is it the full version of Polderbits? I don't think the trial version restricts you to mono or just one channel, but it's possible

Go to Cassette to CD for some free recording software if Ponderbits is causing the problem.
