C-media 8738 Sound Card Problem

I have recently upgraded to an ABITNF7-2S motherboard with an AMD 2800 Athlon XP and 1 GB of Corsair RAM. Windows XP picks up the sound card and installs the drivers and it works okay, but the dual port Game Port cannot be installed. Consistently get a code 12 error in Device Manager advising that it can't find the necessary resources and that I need to remove some other hardware. It further reflects that it is trying to use memory address 201-201 and indicates this address is not available. I have carefully checked all the installed hardware and their memory addresses and none are using this address. In addition, when I check the motherboard resources, this address does not show up. The option to manually change the memory address is not available as it appears the 201-201 address is fixed by Windows or the card.
In my previous configuration (ABIT KD-7 M/B + Windows XP) the card worked fine! Any ideas on what the problem may be?

Hi,

Something about your post caught my eye before I read the whole thing.

You said:

The thing I saw is that windows did catch it and that is O.K., but to have it work properly, you need take your motherboard disk and install first the chipset drivers and then the onboard C-media sound drivers from that disk. Otherwise, it simply won't be able to function the what you want it to. That would be my best guess before going totally into the other things that you talked about.
