Internet Explorer > Tools > Windows Update

Scan for updates.

There should be an update for AC97 available to you.

It's also advisable to install any other updates available.

i got this error after trying to use 'windows update':

"Files required to use Windows Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer"

then i chose to install those files, and i got the next error:

"The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem" (error number:0x8007041D)

is there any other solution maybe?

thanks again.

i fixed the first problem (low volume) by updating the driver through "device manager" instead of "windows update".
But the volume control still isnt responding. But thats less important.
