Playing Sound Through Two Soundcards Similtaneously

I'm running XP and I've successfully got the VIA AC97 onboard sound and a USB Soundblaster MP3 working together. My question is if it's possible to make XP push sound out of both of them similtaneously. For example, playing an MP3 under media player would send the sound out through the speakers attached to the onboard soundcard and out through the speakers attached to the USB soundcard. At the moment, it looks like you have to pick one or the other. Anyone come across a way to make this work or additional software that would make this work?

I think it'd be possivle and now you've made me curious. If I can get my old machines back in working order I'm willing to give it a try.
