No audio device
Having huge problems with sound. I have uninstalled and installed all drivers, but still have "no audio device" when I go to my sounds control panel.
Computer says all devices working properly and all are installed. Have removed sound card to another location, and used a new sound card. No luck.. Anybody heard of this Thanks buck6buck |

Is that no sounds at all [ie. windows startup sounds etc] or no audio [CD, MP3 etc] If you've tried already with reinstalled soundcard drivers, maybe you need to get drivers for the mobo which you could get at the manufacturers website.

Sound card info
Yes, I have no sounds on startup or anything. Videos play but no sound as well.
I have Windows XP have installed the latest service park (2.0). It is a soundblaster A2 card that came with my Gateway Pentium 4 CPU 2.8GHz, 512 RAM. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers associated with the sound card from the CD and the most updatd drivers on their website. Thanks for the quick help!!! |

Let's check the system control panel. Click on the hardware tab and device manager button. Look at the list. Do you see any ! or X next to any devices?
If not, click on the + next to sound, video.... Do you just see the files for the sound blaster? No other sounds card should be listed here. Only one of each device should be listed here.

Here's what I did;
Find out the name and model of motherboard,[Everest or Belarc] Go to manufacturers website, Find and download drivers. This fixed it for me. Good Luck. Everest Home Edition....www.lavalys.com Belarc Advisor....www.belarc.com |
