NVidia Control Panel not working...

...Also, my headphone socket stopped working at the same time (could be a coincidence but....), and I now get the message 'incorrect size returned during FXMANAGER_ALLOCATE' when I try to open the NVidia control panel.

It may be unrelated, but windows update tried to download and install two Nvida drivers(?) last week, but they wouldn't install properly. The problem seemed to happen after that.

Any ideas on how this can be fixed?

Cheers

it is best to get updated drivers from the makers site not from ms
in the device manager uninstall the video card
reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode
when windows finishes reinstalling the card
disable a/virus
install your drivers
reboot the computer
then come back and tell us how you are going
