AC97 on board sound is not working
Everytime I start the computer, seems the sound chips cannot be detected.
There is an exclamation in the device manager. The problem still exists even I restart the Operating system. But if I shut down(power off) the computer then turn on again (within about 1 mins). The AC97 work again. But after leave it alone an hour later, AC97 does not work. Motherboard: 2themax 8K9A2+ OS: WinXP /w SP1a Is it the problem about the transformer? Can anyone help me plz ? Thanks very much.

Hi,
This is rather wierd behavior for the AC97 to work and then quit. I wanted to know if you have reinstalled the drivers? That is probably what the yellow check mark is for as a rule. Try updating them and see if that helps. Do that by right clicking where the yellow mark is and then selecting update drivers. Make sure you have the drivers disk in when you do this. If that does not work, then take the motherboard disk and load them from the Motherboard CDrom and see if the yellow mark disappears. |
