soundMAX digital intergrated audio cant open (code 10)
i cant get any sound. when i look at soundmax in the conrol panel there is a yellow exclamation mark next to it and it say device cannot start code 10. It is really anoying i have tried reinstalling the driver but no luck i have built in sound on my motherboard. I have pentium 4 2.4ghz 1.3gb ram. its a old computer and its running xp pro. I dont know how the problem happened cause it was working and the next day it stopped. If further info is required please ask me. it also says no mixer or sumtin

That's why I was asking about if it had been updated. Try rolling back the driver in device manager, if that does does not work uninstall and reinstall the driver from hp.

Push f10 when booting (splash sreen) Hit the advanced option, scroll down and make sure onboard audio is enabled. Save any changes on exit. If no luck, chat with hp.
