Got something stuck in my lineout
Yeah... I was using a radio shack (gold) adapter jack to plug my stereo speakers (red and white cords) into my PC. Somehow the tip of the adapter broke off inside the jack (I honestly have no idea how) and I cannot get it out.
My questions are simple, one: does anyone have any ideas about how to get the broken piece out besides dismantling the whole silver box the sound equipment is in because I doubt I'd be able to put it back together again? and two: aside from getting it out, is there any software program or way to transform one of the other many jacks I'm not using (I have 5 others) into lineout? I searched but didn't find anything, it's kind of a tough thing to search for. Headphone jack is not currently attached to the motherboard for various reasons, so I can't use that. I'm not sure it's even possible to turn, for example, one of the 3 'speaker out' jacks into a main lineout, but I'd love to do it if possible. Thanks in advance

Re: Got something stuck in my lineout
Your only option would be to try and remove it. You can't "remap" other connectors. If you can't get it back together, you could simply buy another soundcard. You can get a basic Sound Blaster card for $20.

Re: Got something stuck in my lineout
Okay thanks for the heads up - I kind of figured there was no way to remap, even with a software program, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. I guess I'll keep trying to get the piece unstuck. Thanks :3
