Sound Problem...

Hi,

I recently installed windows 7 ultimate edition on my computer. after that, i was having problems with the audio playback having a low volume and some parts of a song being at lower volumes( bass too high, treble low etc etc).
This was because i hadnt installed an audio driver for my sound card that had come bundled with my computer. So i installed the driver (Realtek HD Audio Manager) but a new problem has surfaced. ANY audio that i play, whether it be a song, movie, a windows alert, msn beep, they are all accompanied by a fuzzy sound. I do not know how to describe the sound, its like a buzz that accompanies any sound playback on my computer. I have tried everything, re-installed the driver from the official website (www.realtek.com.tw), nothing seems to work. If i uninstall the driver, the fuzzy disturbance disappears but we all know what happens when we dont have a sound driver installed.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I was also wondering if you can install another Sound driver, or is it that you are stuck with the one that comes bundled by your OEM ?

Re: Sound Problem...

You should be able to use the OEM driver or the chip manufacturers drivers. It could simply just be a driver issue.

What is the motherboard brand/model?

since this is a clean install and not an upgrade from the OEM supplied operating system, the drivers werent present when i launched my Windows 7 for the first time, and i had to download them from the realtek website. Which failed.

Anyway, i ran Everest and found out the following information:

Motherboard 05/30/2007-SiS-671-6A7IGFK8C-00
Motherboard DMIMOBO: Acer F671CR
Motherboard DMISYS: Acer Aspire SA90
Motherboard This BIOS is exclusively for Acer only(R01-B3S1)
Thanks

Re: Sound Problem...

By OEM, I meant Acer supplied drivers. All drivers for supported OS's on your system should be available from the vendor. If they don't support Win 7, then you are on your own trying to get something to work.

I assume you are using the v2.37 Windows 7 driver?

Yes i am on my own and the problem is, i am not the only one having these problems. I wish realtek addressed these issues, since they do not have customjer service outside North America.

Yes am using the latest driver, but its no good!

Re: Sound Problem...

You could try the Vista drivers. But other than that, you are stuck waiting for Realtek to update/fix the Win7 drivers.

Re: Sound Problem...

Many of the Vista drivers work under Win7. But they don't always work or work properly.
