Sound cuts out when playing online games

Hey guys I just recently bought a new computer and I have installed XP on it. I think I have installed all drivers that came with the computer setup but I have 1 problem. When I'm playing online games such as Call of Duty 4 or Counter Strike my sound cuts out after about 5 minutes of gameplay. Call of Duty singleplayer is fine but as soon as I go online the sound cuts out. I am using Realtek audio drivers. Any replies would be great.

The only thing that comes to mind would be your internet connection.

Nothing comes to mind. It could be you have a slow connection or the server(s) being used to overloaded or slow.

Have you installed tried updating or reinstalling the audio drivers? Look for an updated version.

Ye I have installed the latest realtek audio driver but I think it has to be something with my internet connection. Its weird cause it's fine when I play singleplayer games but as soon as I go online it cuts out. Happens with all games.
