Hi,
Ive an acer laptop with a Realtek HD audio sound card.. 2 days back i was live streaming a cricket match n suddenly the sound went chipmunk. I thought it must been a broadcasting error in the match but next morning when i opened my laptop, sound was still chipmunk.. each and every sound coming from the PC was chipmunk, and video was also playing too fast. since then, ive been searching the solution on the net but couldnt fix the damn problem ![]() these r the methods ive tried so far :- 1. reinstalled the sound card with the latest one from realtek website 2. scanned my system for old drivers n updated them too 3. reduced the hardware acceleration to none, and adjusted it to different levels 4. finally Ive reinstalled the OS, i.e. windows xp... even after doing all this the sound is still the same ![]() please help me guys with this problem !! im really fed up and ve no idea wat 2 do !! :( |

Re: chipmunk sound even after reinstalling the OS :(
Your initial description states the audio was bad AND the video was playing too fast. The soundcard wouldn't affect video playback speed....that would be a media player issue.
With that said, if the problem is the same even after a fresh install of XP, I'd say the sound card/audio chipset has failed.
