I was wondering if anyone could help with a problem. I just bought a secondhand Sony Vaio VGN-B88GP Laptop that did not come with a recovery cd. I tried running Windows 7 RC1, I managed to get the sound to work, but had problems with the graphics. So I went back to XP and got the graphics drivers okay, but can't get the sound to work. Searched for drivers everywhere, but no luck with right ones. I have some running, says they are working okay, but still no sound. Maybe something else is stopping sound, I don't know.Contacted Sony but they want $65 for a recovery CD (YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING). I used an Intel chip identify software and this is what it said - Intel 82801DBM ICH4-M - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-1]
If someone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Cheers...Mark P. |

Re: Help with Sony Vaio VGN-B88GP Sound
Thanks so much for your help, but I had already tried this site but it says theses drivers aren't for my machine when I try to install them. Oddly enough I seem to have solved the problem, so I'll post it to hopefully help others. I got some drivers for the model - VGN-B150FP and they work. Hope this helps someone else.
