How do you input music from device

Are either of these possible. Or is there another way. I dont want to record music via microphone. The quality just becomes bad. I want the music digitally recorded on the PC from a device. Thanks

Re: How do you input music from device

usually you plug the device into the line in port and press play on the device, you will have to install the drivers for that device.

so say for example it is an ipod you install the drivers then hook it up and press play, the computer will detect the device and use the device application to play the tune

Yeah but there are no drivers needed. I just want to record via the sound connection. Not USB. :) Is it possible?

Re: How do you input music from device

you can put a microphone next to a device that is playing music to record it if you want, it will sound a bit crap though.
