Sound Card Not Working - Not sure what i need to install

I accidentally deleted my sound card/sound driver roundabout last year, and tried in vain to get it back.
So, ive decided to restart the task, and i would have loved to have been able to solve this by myself, but i'm fresh out of ideas to what i could do anymore

I have a Dell Latitude D531
I have tried the following:

-Everything on the sticky at the top of this forum
-Downloading the sound card driver (SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio Driver)
-Using Everest to see my specs - no sound card exists

The sound driver downloaded successfully, but still no sound :(
Im going to reboot after this post just in case that has an effect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, im at the end of my tether

I believe this driver requires a patch to enable the high-definition audio bus. That should require a restart. It may be included...

Hmm, I didnt download from the official dell site, as the download wasn't working for me, when clicking the "download" button all it download is a "dell driver donwloader", which cannot find the download.
So.. yeah :/

It's your browser or you misread. ALL of the drivers needed for any Dell PC are on the Dell website.

When I click on the link provided above (using FireFox) and click on the "Download" button, I get a popup window with the option to download the file using Dell downloader OR my browser. Choosing my browser, I can get the 7mb file.
