Stereo Mix recording voice at a very low volume

I have finally managed to get stereo mix working right, in order to record gameplay and my voice at the same time. The problem now is that when recording voice, the playback is extremely low. I have my microphone's volume set to max, as well as a +30 db boost, and yet after I record something and play the video, you can barely hear me. The game sounds, however, come in just fine. I have checked all available settings, and nothing seems to be working. I also know it isn't the microphone, because I've done recordings with it while not using stereo mix, and it came in at a fine volume. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've never used it, but maybe instead of trying to increase the mic volume, decrease the game audio (or both).
