BSOD Sound Card Related
Hi, this is my first thread so please bear with me....
WIN XP SP3 ATHLON 64 X2 DUAL CORE 4GB RAM VIA 6-CHANNEL AUDIO CHIP ATI RADEON 4800 SERIES When trying to run Battlefield 2 I get BSOD 'driver irql not less or equal' STOP: 0X000000D1 (0XAB82FE60, 0X00000002, 0X00000008, 0XAB82FE60) VIAHduaa.sys-Address AB82FE60 base at AB816000, Datestamp 48687640 Now I know this is something to do with my sound card but have no idea how to solve it. I've tried re-installing and updating all my drivers, I tried system restore to several earlier points. I tried re-installing and patching the game. I tried to get the dmp file to post here as I thought that info may help someone to advise me but to be honest I'm clueless with p.cs and gave up after 40mins of messing around not knowing what I'm doing... anyone know an idiots guide to posting dmp files? I have managed to get the game to work. Under 'audio devices'- 'default device' I have two options, one is 'HD audio rear output 2' and the other is 'ATI HD audio rear output' which i guess is my graphics card audio. If I select the ATI option then the game plays, but I get no sound because I'm not using the port on the graphics card (or i guess thats the reason). If I select the other option I get sound on my p.c and all programes run fine except BF2. Through looking at other peoples problems I thought it may be a conflict between those cards so I tried disabling the ATI driver but that didnt solve the problem. I'm really stuck as to what to try next so any advise would be very welcome. Please tell me if any more info is needed. Many thanks. |

Re: BSOD Sound Card Related
The ATI output, is the audio output for the HDMI connection.
What is the brand/model of your motherboard? Is this only occurring in this game, or in other games as well? You may need to install newer or maybe even older drivers until you find one that works, especially if the problem is only present in a single game.
