Crackling and lots of static on Realtek HD Audio, Win7 32-bit
My card is a Realtek HD Audio and my OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. If I install the latest drivers (tested with 2.34, 2.35 and others) I get really bad sound with lots of crackles and static. I have tried installing with "run as administrator", UAC is off and I am on an admin account whenever I install the drivers.
The only way I can fix this is to use the older drivers that "only" support Vista, currently using 1.97, and my sound is fine. However, I really want to use the newest drivers as I have a reason to believe that these outdated drivers are causing a very annoying 0x00000124 BSOD. I have checked under device manager and dxdiag and everything is working properly. Last edited by UberB; 10-15-2009 at 06:23 AM. |

Re: Crackling and lots of static on Realtek HD Audio, Win7 32-bit
Don't know what you want us to say. Many static issues are simply driver issues. If the new drivers don't work for you, your only option is to use the older drivers until a new version is released.
You can check the motherboard manufacturers website or try the chipset website (realtek in this case) for other driver versions.
