No sound at all, although "the device is working properly"
I have a pretty new PC that once had the sound working perfectly. But after I installed a new PSU, I now have absolutely no sound working at all either through speakers or headphones, and regardless of whether I am using front or rear ports.
I have downloaded and installed the very latest RealTek drivers using Driver Checker. I am always told "The device is working properly". I have tried reinstalling RealTek from disc. But old drivers or new, it's all to been to no avail. I still have no sound. My specs are below - Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600) 2.53 gigahertz Intel Pentium Dual-Core 64 kilobyte primary memory cache 2048 kilobyte secondary memory cache 64-bit ready Multi-core (2 total) Not hyper-threaded Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5KPL-AM/PS x.0x Bus Clock: 200 megahertz BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 0310 09/18/2008 Realtek High Definition Audio Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC Dhcp Server: none responded Thanking in advance for any help. |

Re: No sound at all, although "the device is working properly"
Ok, it comes up with the Found New hardware Wizard. I've clicked "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"/ Sound, video and game controllers/
Presumably this is Microsoft UAA Function Driver for High definition Audio - RealTek 280 or RealTek 880?? It won't let me install either. Please let me know if I am doing this right. Thanks. |
