How Do I Properly Set Up My Speakers For The Correct Sound?

I've just purchased some Logitech 2.1 X-230 speakers (Shown in link below)& have some questions:

- In "Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices > Speaker Settings > Advanced" I only get the choices shown in the screenshot below. Which should I choose considering my speakers are 2.1 & not shown in the the list?

- Having just setup my new sound system, I don't know how to set it up in order to get a perfect balance of bass/sound etc. The reason for this is because there is a knob on speakers themselves that I can turn in order to reduce or increase the volume, there's a knob on the Subwoofer for the same thing, there's PC volume which I can turn up or down & finally there's also a Bass/Volume/Treble setting in Winamp. How on Earth am I meant to find out which settings to change & by how much in order to get the right balance of volume/bass?

- And finally, I only seem to be getting sound in Winamp & Windows Media Player. When I'm on Youtube, PC Games or any other things like that I get no sound whatsoever. Why is this?

These are the speakers I bought: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/sp...208&cl=roeu,en

Thanks in advance guys!
