audio gone weird

hi my audio has stopped working. i have high definintion audio driver package KB888111 and Realtek High Definition Audio Driver and yet my windows media player is giving me a "cannot play because of a bad sound device" error. also no sound over internet. i have tried with 2 sound devices. X-240 logitech speakers and audiofx headphones in both the speakers and the audio jack on the back of my pc case. however my Realtek HD Sound Effect Manager 3d audio demo works perfectly with all sound devices. whats going on?
