Soundcard capabilities?
Hi!
I'm a home PC musician who uses soundcards to record audio and create songs using programs like Stienbergs Cubase SX2 and as i play guitar i also use Native Instruments's Guitar Rig 2. I recently was given a Terratec DMX 6 fire PCI audio card(without the breakout box, just the PCI card and extra attachment) I've set it up on my PC and all seems fine as it plays back audio no probs but when i plugged my Guitar into the blue Line in(via a 1\4 inch female to 3.5mm male adapter) on the PCI card i had the fader jumping in the cards control panel mixer (i.e signal was getting to the PC) but when i opened either Cubase or guitar rig i couldnt get a signal no matter how much i played with the settings? Basically i just want to know if i can plug my guitar into this thing and be able to use the already mentioned programs sucsessfully? I thought it would be possible as it is ASIO supported and has 24\96 converters. If it is possible what is the correct setup procedure or what am i doing wrong? |

Re: Soundcard capabilities?
You should be able to, yes. Have you manually selected in the programs which device to take input from.
