Headphone Static
I'm currently running Turtle Beach HPA2 headphones from the onboard HD audio ports from my MSI P6N motherboard, and no matter what I am doing I hear faint static noise in the background. I've tested the sound with shoddy old computer speakers, and at full blast I can hear the static coming from them as well. The static noise gets louder if you turn up the volume on the headphones themselves, but when the sound is turned up through Windows the static does not get louder. I've tried hooking up the headphones to an external 5.1 sound card, but it does not get rid of the static. I've read online a few places that disabling microphone in, line in, etc. would solve the issue, but it doesn't. Neither does the advice of disabling pc beep - nowhere in my sound panel does it have such a listing.
Does anyone have any advice? I'm truly at wit's end. Last edited by outofsync; 08-21-2009 at 10:34 PM. |

Re: Headphone Static
I hate to bump a post, but I'd like to give this one last shot before I perhaps hand the hardware over to some professionals. The static really gets in the way whilst listening to Brahms :(
