Sound Blaster X-Fi - mic doesn't work

Just installed PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi, and the microphone doesn't seem to work at all. This thread details how to fix the problem, but I can't follow "Steven420's" instructions; I can't figure out how to reach the screen shown in the second image in his post:

There doesn't seem to be anything like this in the Creative Volume Panel.

Any ideas or alternatives?

Did your card come with a disk? That is how I installed mine.
