Audio Input destroyed

A friend of mine mannaged to rip the audio input out of my computer. making it impossible to get sound to headphones etc.

I was wondering if it is possible to make the microphone input doing the audio inputs "job"?
That way I could use my headphones again.

I imagine that nowadays anything is Possible, but I doubt the mic port would output sound..Might be better off getting a nice pair of USB headphones..
