[SOLVED] Vista sound and X-Fi
Hello everyone,
I have noticed that when i unplug my headphones that the vista volume will not revert back to what it was set at before I plugged in the headphones in. It works fine when I plug them in as far as changing the volume to where it was set at last time I used headphones. But not the other way around. I have vistax64 and Creative X-FI extreme gamer. Any suggestions would be appreciated. JohnnyDollar |

Re: Vista sound and X-Fi
Yes I am. This isn't a big issue but, it would be nice if it worked correctly. I use my speakers most of the time. I plug in my headphones and creative remembers the volume of my headsets and automatically adjusts it when they are plugged in. When I unplug sometimes the sound goes back to where it was set when I was using speakers and sometimes it doesn't. Or it will go back and then I'll reboot and at startup it is at the volume that was set when the headphones were plugged in.

Re: Vista sound and X-Fi
As far as I remember no creative software has the ability to remember the volume levels based on the actual output equipment used. Output equipment does not provide any identifiable information and therefore it would be impossible to have it remember the sound level per output. You probably corrected your sound for the speakers or headphones after using the other and because of this when you switch back you need to correct the volume again. You will have to manually correct the volume each time you switch between them.

Your welcome. It would also be very appreciated if you would mark the thread solved from the thread tools menu. This helps distinguish threads I have completed from threads I still need to assist in.
