Mic port functions as audio out
I have an awesome issue where my mic port has taken over the job of the audio out port. Oddly enough, it can also function as the mic in line too. What this means is if I plug my speakers into the mic port, I get my audio from my computer as if they were plugged into the audio out port. But if I unplug the speakers and plug in my mic to the same port, I can record myself talking etc... But the other two ports for sound, including the one that is SUPPOSED to function as the audio port, do NOTHING. Well the audio out port does do one thing I've found. If I plug my mic into it, it will record what is playing on my computer at the time.
I've gone through the steps in the "Sound problems? Try these things first." sticky, but to no avail. I also get nothing but fatal error messages from the server when I attempt to search the forums. I would very much like to be able to talk on Ventrilo and be able to hear people talk back to me at the same time, but in the current situation that's not very possible.
