Hello, i tried googling for a good sound card, but I'm just not experienced enough in the area to really know. Then came across this board. So here's my first post.
I bought some incredible M-Audio Studiophile AV 40. They are high quality speakers, and i wanted to buy a new sound card to improve the performance. My motherboard is a M2N32 SLI Deluxe, it had decent on board audio. Anyone know of some good sound cards out there that are within the price range of $60-$100? Or if you guys think that it would just be a waste of money, please let me know. If i did get a sound card, i was thinking about buying some higher gauge speaker cables, any recommendations for that as well? The link for the speakers is here http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...nnorswebguidec Here's my motherboard link http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813131011 |

Re: Help with buying a sound card
First thing that comes to mind would be to take a look at the M-audio 2496. Sounds to me like a perfect match to your speakers and you are not going to go wrong with the quality. You didn't mention if you were running 64bit or not but check the reviews if you are.

Re: Help with buying a sound card
Yeah, I originally was going to go with that, but i heard a couple suggest that i go with something else because I'm not recording. So i browsed amazon and found this guy

Re: Help with buying a sound card
So what's your impression/experience with it. Can you tell a difference from your onboard (I'm assuming that you can).
My recommendation for the M-audio card was so that you could stay away from Creative drivers. Creative cards are great, but only when they work. Pauldo |
