When I type anything on my PS/2 keyboard, be it offline or online, it will periodically cause my sound to glitch or skip. There is also occasional lag when typing in general, though not severe. (All of these problems are REPRODUCIBLE.) Even in games I get severe lag, despite the fact that my FPS is decent while playing them.
I have tried the following:: Used two different PS/2 Keyboards. (Both continued to glitch.) Reinstalled Windows 7 RC TWICE..(Erased my hard-drive before each install. No results.) Installed a variety of different audio drivers.. (Both from Windows Update and HP. Nothing has worked so far.) Turned off all sound enhancements. (No dice.) Tested the speakers on a different computer. (They worked fine.) Updated my BIOS. (Nada.) --As you can guess, I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. Though there ARE a few people online with a similar problem, they are few and far between. This seems to be a rare occurance for most folks.. (Oh lucky me. :-( ) The only solutions offered for this problem, to my knowledge, are either getting a new sound card, installing a USB keyboard, or changing a BIOS setting to "register" USB keyboards, which somehow magically fixes the PS/2 input.. (Pretty strange, I know, and I am quite sure my BIOS has no such option anyway..) Can anyone HELP!!!??? Please???!!! :-( :-( (Computer Specs Below:) **HP Business Desktop dc5850 - KR732UT#ABA** AMD Athlon X2 5200B Dual-core 2.7GHz ATI Radeon 3100 (Integrated, Using 256MB) Windows 7 RC Build 7100 80GB SATA Hard Drive PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse -- Integrated High Definition Audio with ADI884 Codec -- (SoundMAX Analog Devices seem to be responsible for the driver listed on HP's website.)
