I am using Sigmatel audio device, Sound icon is not coming automatically while starting the system. In the control panel, I checked in Volume Tab of Sounds and audio devices , i see " no audio device found", when i check Test Hardware button in Voice tab i get a message " windows cannot execute DpvSetup.exe, use Add/remove programs control panel to install" and if I check in Hardware tab I see Microsoft Kernel Wave Audio Mixer is not working properly.

I have attached the print screen for this error messages..

Please some help me ..

Re: No Sound device

You have an error in the setup of the driver that controls your sound card. Open up Device Manager and reinstall the driver.

Hi Riskyone, Thanks for your information....i tried installing chipset driver and restarted the pc and downloaded the audio driver from the given location ...unzipped it to D:/dell/drivers/R171789/WDM ..it automatically started installing...and completed installation...restarted and same problem exists. I tried to manually update the driver using device manager...this time i chosen the locationD:/dell/drivers/R171789/WDM of the driver manually ...the installtion wizard could not find the driver... later I checked system startup utility from "msconfiq" in RUN option and I see all the programs seems OK except SigmaTel...ie..every program starts from the location "C:\program files\......."
however Sigmatel application starts from "%Program Files%SigmaTel/C-Major....." I have attached the screen shot of this...Now I feel the problem is with registry for SigmaTel...I think it is not booted properly....Also opened Sounds and Audio devices from Control Panel and checked the Voice tab and Clicked the Test hardware button ...i got a error message "windows cannot execute DpvSetup.exe, use add/Remove programs control panel to install."...I could not understand where the problem exists...please help me in solving this...

Re: No Sound device

Install the audio device manually.

No, not at this time
Install from a list or a specific location
Dont search, I will choose the driver to install
now navigate to the audio file and select it.
