Help no sound since IDK
Hi,
(English is not my first language so I will try to be as clear as possible but if anyone has a problem reading me please contact me ) Last year I have replaced my motherboard with an ECS GF7050VT-M with Onboard high-quality audio CODEC and American Megatrends Inc. 080015 04/07/2008 BIOS. My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2. I have as well installed an ATI Diamond Radeon HD 3650 Video board with external HDMI output that I have not been using. I have an audio problem for as long as I can remember on this computer, but it is only those last days that I have been trying to fix it. The sound doesn’t work and when I open Sound and Audio Devices in Control Panel it says no Audio Devices and everything is grayed out. I have figured out that it was a driver related problem and I have tried to download updated driver. Today I have two drivers installed on this computer: ASUSTek SAA7134, Hybrid Capture Device, that I believe to be a non working driver assignated to PCI Slot 1 (PCI bus 1, device 4, function 0). Btw I don’t have any external audio/sound board, Im only using the one onboard. I would like to get rid of this device but overtime I uninstall it with Device Manager It reappears after rebooting, like if Windows need it to use audio (I guess). The second one is the one I reinstall with my motherboard’s installation kit: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. But it appears to be non-functionning as well since windows issues a error code : “This device cannot start. (Code 10)” I have tried updating the driver with the new up-to-date version IDT High Definition Audio CODEC 0.95 downloadable at ECS website : http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Dow...nuID=6&LanID=0 It is dated of 27th of November 2008 and I believe that no other update have been issued. I tried looking into the BIOS but audio and Windows audio are both on automatic and my onboard audio is fully enabled. It might be a minor problem but I have pulled my hair the last three days and I was wondering if you guys could help me with it. If you need any other information on my system, please ask. Thanks Thomas |

Re: Help no sound since IDK
and welcome to the ForumFirst, look in BIOS to be sure the onboard Audio is enabled. Then look in Device Manager for anything marked as Unknown or with a yellow !

Re: Help no sound since IDK
I am going to try that !
But you know I had diferent speakers before and the first thin I tried was to change my speakers !! Can you tell me what does the "Audio Device On High Def Audio Bus" means and what is it for? And why does ASUSTek SAA7134 device keeps installing itself automatically after eahc reboot when I uninstall it ! I cant find the source of it and I can only go on : Sound and Audio Device >> Hardware >> ASUSTek... >> Driver >>Driver 's Details And I have a list of Windows dll files (pictures of screen attached) It s bothering me because it might be a conflict between ASUSTek and the other motherboard driver (IDT) http://www.techsupportforum.com/imag...4-dontknow.gif PS Im gonna try the UAA and Ill tell if it works... |

Re: Help no sound since IDK
Try installing the sound card drivers now . . sometimes it helps to install them after the uaa drivers.
Have you tried a different set of speakers?

Re: Help no sound since IDK
Start over here: A suggestion here simpswr because I feel theres a driver conflict
going on here. Go here for Drive Sweeper: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D--...er)_d1672.html Go here for chipset driver: GeForce7050 / 610i (MCP73V) http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_winxp_15.26.html Go here for the audio driver: http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Pro...nuID=1&LanID=9 1. remove any and all audio drivers through add/remove in control panel 2. check for any left over folders in "program files" and delete them. 3. Run drive sweeper and remove any traces of audio driver files 4. after complete, reboot pc 5. Upon reboot if a New found wizard pops up, cancel it out 6. Install the chipset driver 7. reboot pc 8. install audio driver 9. reboot pc

Re: Help no sound since IDK
Okay I'm going to try what you just said and I will tell you all about it ...
But the problem is that I have this driver ASUSTek SAA7134 that installs itself automatically. I try to find a way to delete its files but I cannot find them in the system. BTW U guys know that I have onboard audio right ?? Will it still work? |

Re: Help no sound since IDK
okay so those where my results :
I deletd all the drivers successfully, actually the only one I can uninstall : IDT HD Audio CODEC. I ran a Drive sweeper clean up and It blocked on several files and gave the not found file error code. But all the file that could be deleted were. I rebooted l;like asked and found myself with two New Found Wizard popo-up : IDT HDMI and IDT Audio CODEC I installes the chipset driver without any problem I rebooted and it gave me again both popo=up I checked my Hardware section of Sound and Audio Devices it showed the normal drivers plus two Audio Device on HD audio Bus (showing (!) at their sides) and the ASUSTek SAA7134 Hybrid Capture Device, I installed IDT audio driver work fine I still don't have any sound coming from both of my speakers But Idt recognize the jacks and is present on the toolbar. When I reboot my computer after that I was too slow before launghing Windows that I had to manually stop the booting and reboot it I did so and there was still no sound. I have the normal drivers plus ASUSTek and IDT and AUdio device on HD audio Bus nonworking porperly (!) |

Re: Help no sound since IDK
Download this driver here and install it:
http://www.howtodrivers.com/model29607.html This is a video capture device separate from the audio device.
