[SOLVED] Audio jack not working
Hi,
I have compaq presario C700 (vista home premium 32 bit) has conexant high defination audio. My audio driver is up to date.It works fine with compaq speakers.My problem is that sound keeps on coming even when I plug in my headphones. My second problem is that whenever I connect with my wifi i cannot install windows updates but when i put my broadband cable wire it works fine. (error 80244019) Plz help........ Thanks in advance. Where are you plugging in the mic? Front or back? Both?
Could be a problem with the jack. Have you tried moving the plug around as you are slowly pushing it into the jack? Not sure on your second problem. It would be best to post that question under either Windows Vista or Networking. Pauldo |

Hi,
Thanks for reply........Its the front headphone jack. I didnt check whether mic is working but headphones are not working...sound comes out of laptop speakers even i plug in my headphones. |

Ah, laptop. Should have actually looked up your system specs first.
![]() It's highly likely that your jack is malfunctioning. Have you tried moving the jack around as you are plugging them in? There is a switch in the jack that needs to be tripped, which is obviously not happening. Pauldo |
